The phone that I dubbed Sprint’s second LTE device turned out to actually be the first. LG Viper beat the Sprint Samsung Galaxy Nexus by a few days. Now comes another first — the first free LTE phone on Sprint. Amazon Wireless is offering this handset for free with a new contract and for only fifty bucks as an upgrade.
I recently had some hands-on time with the Viper. While it certainly lacks the high-end styling of the Galaxy Nexus or the EVO 4G LTE, it’s hardly “low end”. Considering that Sprint has yet to roll out their LTE network, the Viper is a safe bet if you need a new phone right now.
