Every night at 12:15 AM Pacific, Amazon gives away a free paid app through their Amazon app store. As I am usually awake at 12:15 AM Pacific, why not let you know if today’s app is useful, or just more clutter in your app drawer?
Today’s free app is Percent Calculator (Pro) by WhichMan, INC. and usually runs for $1.00. Are you too stupid to figure out how to use percentages on a regular calculator? Then congratulations, this is the app for you. Someone had the gall to charge a full buck — not just $.99, but a full dollar — for a gimped calculator that only does percentages.
Funny thing is, if they just called it a tip calculator, ok, it’s still kind of useless when I can run an actual calculator app, but at least it’s hitting it’s target audience. But by including all possible percentages… if I was smart enough to figure out the word percentage, I should be smart enough to not have to use this. It creates a bizarre paradox, a universe where neither substance nor energy can exist, where a swirling cloud of dark matter gains sentience and tries to take over our Universe Prime… I have stared into the abyss, and Percent Calculator (Pro) stared back.
