Amazon Prime Instant Video Debuts For (Some) Android Tablets

One of the best arguments for buying a Fire tablet, aside from price, has always been Amazon Prime Instant Video. If you already had Amazon Prime, then the free video streaming part of the deal was just too good to pass up. Why pay extra for Netflix or Hulu? The downside, of course, was if you didn’t want Fire’s custom Android interface, you couldn’t get Prime Instant Video. Until today.

Amazon has updated the Amazon Android App to include the video service.  To sweeten the deal, Amazon is throwing in a free 5 GB of Amazon Cloud storage as well. Attempts to test on a Nexus 7 (2013 edition) revealed that not all devices are supported, so we have not had a chance to fully test the new functionality.

Do you have an Android device and use Amazon Prime? Download the updated app and let us know in the comments how it worked for you.
