A Digital First As DC Comics Goes Digital First

A lot of us are comic book fans here at Techcitement. One of our earliest posts was about DC Comics digital initiative and we just posted yesterday about the upcoming comic book industry tablet war.  Now, DC ups the ante a tad. Batman Beyond, one of their first comics to go day-and-date is now going to be relaunched as a weekly digital comic book, with art by one of the definitive Batman artists, Norm Breyfogle. DC Comics will also be produce Justice League Beyond, a series based on the Batman Beyond episode “The Call”, with art by one of my personal favorite artists Dustin Nguyen. The weekly comics will then be collected monthly as a 48 page monthly series.

While there are several digital-only series, this is the first of the comic book industry “big boys” going digital first. It’s a huge step.

Your move, Marvel.
