SnApp Judgments: Cartoon Defense

Every night at 12:15 AM Pacific, Amazon gives away a free paid app through their Amazon app store. As I am usually awake at 12:15 AM Pacific, why not let you know if today’s app is useful, or just more clutter in your app drawer?

Today’s free app is Cartoon Defense by bbazzigames which usually runs for $.99. And was released rather late as a free app. I don’t know exactly when, but sometime after 1AM PDT, which was a little frustrating for me, wanting to write a column on it.

At  first glance, Cartoon Defense looks like yet another tower defense style game. Really though, it’s a shooter in tower defense drag. Instead of selecting units and letting them do their thing, you’re selecting weapons and executing stick figures by tapping on them. It’s more a shooter, in the vein of something like Lethal Enforcers than anything else. Except instead of killing gangsters, you’re killing stick figures who are trying to raid your castle.

It’s not bad. Not the deepest game in the world, or the prettiest graphics, but you can go from loading up the app to massacring your enemies in seconds. The gun noises are very satisfying as well. Give this one a shot, as time killers go, this is a fun one.
