Microsoft spokesperson/blogger/PR flack Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb has announced that the latest incarnation of the Xbox will be revealed on Tuesday, May 21 at 1:00 PM Eastern Time. The media event will be streamed live on Xbox.com and broadcast on Spike TV. Naturally, you’ll be able to keep up with the news here on Techcitement as well.
Microsoft will of course look to avoid some of the pitfalls that victimized Sony during its oddly vague announcement of the PlayStation 4, and the company already has a few PR fires of its own to put out. There’s been a modest kerfuffle over rumors that the new Xbox will require a constant internet connection to play games at all and that it may actively prevent pre-owned games from being used on the system.
