LG Breaks Up With Windows Phone

I never thought I’d say this, but I’m starting to feel bad for Microsoft. Despite all the effort the company puts into pushing Windows Phone 7, the people who make the hardware it needs to live don’t seem to be behind them. We haven’t had much news of upcoming handsets from anyone but Nokia and now LG dumps Windows Phone in a rather harsh manner. The handset maker had this choice quip to add: “The total unit of Windows Phone sold in the global market is not a meaningful figure.”

Buuuurn.

While you can still get your Windows Phone fix via Nokia’s Lumia line, this statement takes some of the shine off of Apple co-Founder Steve Wozniak piling praise on WP7. It’s all well and good to be more “intuitive” than Android, but good luck with that if no one uses your OS.
