Good news, everyone. You can stop being so envious of European techies. While they’ve been lucky enough to have Samsung’s new flagship for a month now, we in the U.S. can get our hands on it this month. Samsung announced that the device will come out shortly for multiple U.S. carriers. T-Mobile, Sprint, and Verizon were all quick to send out releases of their own confirming this, with only Sprint giving a price of $200. This is likely going to be pretty standard. Other carriers coming to the party? AT&T and U.S. Cellular.
The Galaxy S was one of the first phones to be released across carriers, something the company continued with the Galaxy S II. Hopefully, this time the companies won’t play silly games with the name, and we’ll just see carrier editions of the Samsung Galaxy S III instead of franchise-debilitating code names like Skyrocket, Epic, or Blaze.
Regardless of nomenclature, the high-end handset is a welcome addition to what is turning out to be a great year for superphones.
