Coming Soon: The LG Thrill 4G

Thrilled to Meet You

The other night at Pepcom’s Digital Experience, Techcitement got a real treat – some hands-on time with the upcoming LG Thrill 4G.

Embracing the current 3D trend, the Thrill has dual 5MP cameras for 3D shots and glasses free 3D that Does Not Suck. The 720p HD playback we saw was gorgeous, and I just wish I could show you how great the 3D looked. The included 16GB of storage will likely fill up fast, but that’s a minor issue and easily resolved by having extra microSD cards.

LG’s Android experience is minimally skinned in 2D mode, and very subtle. The less subtle option is a 3D launcher that I didn’t have a ton of time with, but that looked great. The phone has a powerful OMAP dual core to run all that 3D, with the side effect that regular content and apps are incredibly snappy. The system memory is dual channel as well, which is kind of awesome.

We’ve got a “quick and dirty” video below. Sadly, the 3D  visuals don’t translate well. We will try to have a better video up for you guys soon.
