All My Children And One Life To Live Get Second Lives On Hulu And iTunes

One Life to Live

Bastard children. Weddings. Slaps. Illicit affairs. Gun shots. Weddings. Sexy senior citizens. Pregnant teenagers. Murder. Conspiracies. Weddings. Alien abductions. Meeting God.

These are all most likely words that took up space on whiteboards brainstorming sessions in the writers’ rooms of All My Children and One Life to Live. Well, it looks like the shows themselves have dramatic near-death experiences that they come back from too as they begin their new seasons today on Hulu Plus, Hulu, and iTunes.

Back in April 2011, ABC announced the cancellation of both long-running soap operas (AMC aired for 41 years, and OLTL aired for 43 years). As of 5 AM Eastern Time this morning, you could once again see the convoluted and dramatic lives of Llanview and Pine Valley, Pennsylvania play out in brand new 30-minute episodes. Knowing that this move to internet broadcasting would be difficult for some old-time viewers who may not know Hulu from a hula hoop, the creators and actors behind both shows created a quick explanation of exactly how to watch the show on Hulu and Hulu Plus. However, for those unfamiliar with OLTL other than that show your mom watched or what you sat through while you took a sick day, there’s always this hilarious set of clips that spans the history of the show to catch you up on what you may miss. Keep an eye out for the super brief cameo of Nathan Fillion as Joey Buchanan, the horny son of show leads Victoria Lord and Joe Riley, Sr.

This should also easily fulfill your daily, or weekly, requirement for intense stares.
