Every night at 12:15 AM Pacific, Amazon gives away a free paid app through their Amazon app store. As I am usually awake at 12:15 AM Pacific, why not let you know if today’s app is useful, or just more clutter in your app drawer?
Today’s free app is BubbleMech by Coldwired Games which usually runs for $.99. Do you like Puzzle Bobble? Or Bust-A-Move, or whatever you want to call it? Then you’re either going to love or hate this game, because BubbleMech is ripped off of Puzzle Bobble pretty hard.
Sadly, it could be a better rip off of Puzzle Bobble. It lacks any real time pressure, which takes away a lot of urgency from the game. It might make it better for a phone game, really kills the gameplay in general.
The bigger problem? It turns the game sideways, having you shoot bubbles from left to right. It’s unnatural, an abomination in the eyes of god and man.
Still, sloppy Puzzle Bobble ripoff is better than no Puzzle Bobble ripoff at all.
