Every night at 12:15 AM Pacific, Amazon gives away a free paid app through their Amazon app store. As I am usually awake at 12:15 AM Pacific, why not let you know if today’s app is useful, or just more clutter in your app drawer?
Today’s free app is Gift Shopper Pro by D’Keesto Software which usually runs for $.99 and man oh man would this have been a better free app to have made available a couple weeks ago! It’s a productivity app so you can keep track of whom you need to buy gifts for, what you want to buy them, and what you have bought. It’s actually a pretty cool system, pulling together Gmail contacts, barcode scanning, and budgets to help you get something for everyone on your list without breaking your budget. December 21 might be a little late for this to have been super helpful for this year, but it’s never too early to get a jump on your Christmas shopping for next year!
And really, you can use it for birthdays, graduations, ritual sacrifices to the Moon God… any time where you need to give gifts. It’s a handy app with a simple design, and I cannot stress enough how great both the idea and the execution are. It’s just the timing for me to use it properly right now kind of sucks.
