Every night at 12:15 AM Pacific, Amazon gives away a free paid app through their Amazon app store. As I am usually awake at 12:15 AM Pacific, why not let you know if today’s app is useful, or just more clutter in your app drawer?
Today’s free app is Vegas Bowling by RESETgame which usually runs for $.99. It’s a bowling game — not sure what Vegas has to do with anything, but it’s in the title. It’s not a particularly deep bowling game. There’s not much customization to speak of. You play against a random assortment of creepy looking CG opponents. Apparently you can put spin on a ball, but I have no idea how to do it.
The weird thing is, there’s no title screen. You press the icon for the app, and BAM! You’re bowling. Now, if I were planning on playing this game repeatedly, that might actually be kind of awesome. Why should I wait for developer credits and title screens to run by before I can start playing a game? But the first time, it’s weird. I wondered if I missed something. Spooky.
