Every night at 12:15 AM Pacific, Amazon gives away a free paid app through their Amazon app store. As I am usually awake at 12:15 AM Pacific, why not let you know if today’s app is useful, or just more clutter in your app drawer?
Today’s free app is Pool Bar by Future Games of London, which usually runs for .$.99. If you couldn’t guess from the graphic and the name, it’s a pool game. Billiards, not Marco Polo.
Now the problem is, I’ve never been a big fan of pool games. I suck enough at pool in real life — I’m not any better at virtual pool. So I am a tough sell on the gameplay. On the other hand, the graphics are pretty stunning. I’m not sure how much 3D graphical depth was needed in a pool game, but they actually bothered to render the bar in the title. I can’t say this game will become a permanent addition to my phone’s memory, but it’s worth the download just to take a look at the bar alone.
