Apple Aims To Redesign The Computer (Again) With The New Mac Pro

Mac Pro

Upon seeing the new Mac Pro, my first response is to say,  “Hello, sexy.” Back in the 90s, I lusted after the Apple Cube, an attempt at changing how people looked at desktop computers. The Cube was a cube enclosure (thus the name) with an upgradable body that slid out (for a limited value of upgradable). Unfortunately, the computer flopped, and it’s even something of a collector’s item now.

Apple has clearly borrowed from the Cube concept when making the new Mac Pro, a cylindrical compact-yet-upgradable powerhouse. The new Mac Pro lacks an optical drive, which is odd in a Pro device. But let’s be honest, you’re already using an external, right? That Apple gave us a sneak peak of coming hardware like this is a departure for the company, and the giant might be doing so as a response to pundits claiming that Apple innovation is dead. This is a heck of a middle finger to those who have been mouthing off.
