Apply Voodoo To Unlock Samsung’s Galaxy S III

With Samsung’s iconic Galaxy S III about to hit the U.S. shores tomorrow, potential buyers (or perhaps those of  you who already pre-ordered) may rejoice in knowing that you won’t be locked into a particular carrier now that a SIM-unlock app is available courtesy of XDA’s supercurio. The app, available for free in Google’s Play Store marketplace, is aptly named Voodoo Galaxy S III SIM Unlock. While the app won’t win any awards for name originality, it seems to work as advertised. At least Voodoo works on the European GSM version already available. If you’re a Sprint or Verizon user, this likely won’t be of any interest to you. To be perfectly honest, with the Galaxy S III hitting all major U.S. carriers in the next couple of weeks, there probably isn’t much reason to unlock it.

For those who don’t like the idea of being limited to a carrier, or perhaps wish to buy the T-mobile version tomorrow until AT&T decides to finally start shipping their own, the app is here.
