Every night at 12:15 AM Pacific, Amazon gives away a free paid app through their Amazon app store. As I am usually awake at 12:15 AM Pacific, why not let you know if today’s app is useful, or just more clutter in your app drawer?
Today’s free app is Dominoes by Polyclef Software LLC which usually runs for $1.99. $1.99 for a game of dominoes. I’m assuming this is either the world’s greatest game of dominoes, way, way better than the various free domino apps running around, or this thing is going to make me a pizza in 30 minutes or less.
Sadly, it’s neither. I guess it’s an OK game of dominoes, but that’s all it is — tiles on a solid colored background. The drag mechanism is a little wonky too, requiring you to hover a piece over the piece you want to connect it to for a few moments before it acknowledges you are putting it down. It’s not throw the phone across the room bad or anything, but if you accidentally purchase this game for its regular price… yeah, it kind of is.
