Gross.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Troy Gilbert (@troygilbert) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/troygilbert\/status\/260804182473318400\" data-datetime=\"2012-10-23T18:05:37+00:00\">October 23, 2012<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Since then, the rumors have been verified and similar purges are being reported in <a href=\"http:\/\/gamasutra.com\/view\/news\/180005\/Breaking_Mass_layoffs_closures_at_Zynga.php#.UIbfYml26Yk\">Boston and Chicago<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In a similarly depressing vein, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamesindustry.biz\/articles\/2012-10-23-bigpoint-axes-120-jobs\">Bigpoint also cut 120 jobs and the CEO has left<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The layoffs were reportedly timed for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.apple.com\/hotnews\/\">Apple announcement<\/a> to minimize press coverage, but that plan is obviously not working.
