It&#8217;s basically your grampa talking about the good old days, but sooner and totally more reasonable than dumb boring stories about how all this used to be farmland.<\/em><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Everybody&#8217;s excited about the Microsoft Windows 8 launch, so I thought this would be a good to remind people about this awesome video.<\/p>\n<p>Back in 1995, Microsoft had the daunting task of explaining its revolutionary new operating system, Windows 95. Of course, this was before YouTube or 56K internet connections, so the computing giant apparently included a VHS tape of this guide video with every copy of Windows 95. The company even hired up-and-coming actors Matthew Perry and Jennifer Aniston, fresh off the set of the first season of <em>Friends<\/em>, to star in the video. It&#8217;s a fun-filled half hour of laughs, especially when viewed from 17 years in the future.<\/p>\n<p>This video has it all. A personal computer expert in a chambray shirt several sizes too large for him demonstrates how to find cat pictures on the Microsoft Network! Later, a non-Asian Chinese food delivery guy who is also a karate master or something methodically explains right-clicking! Video games for the children! And a grunge band!<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/5DqJwmzG6Fk\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"575\" height=\"431\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Incidentally, you know Joystick Johnny? (Yes, they named a character Joystick Johnny. He comes in at 24:53, right after Perry says &#8220;I feel so empowered!&#8221;) <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0210840\/\">According to IMDb<\/a>, that&#8217;s none other than <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0403134\/\">Sam Huntington<\/a>, star of the current Syfy hit <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.syfy.com\/beinghuman\">Being Human<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The highly-anticipated Windows 8 was released last Friday. Below is a preview video that Microsoft released back in February. No <em>Friends<\/em> involved in this one, but I can guarantee you that people will be making fun of this video 17 years from now.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/jDYQmQ-phX8\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"575\" height=\"323\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s play a game.<\/p>\n<p>What do you think people will laugh about from this video in 2029?
