You know how everything is Japan is way cooler (see: giant robot<\/a>)? The folks over at Salad<\/a>, or Particle At Rest<\/a>, have developed a new amenity designed to reduce a common health risk associated with riding trains: boredom. Lush landscapes of rolling hills and grand blue skies won\u2019t feel so drab thanks to an interactive Augmented Reality window.<\/p>\n

The horrific monsters are unfortunately absent, but at least these harmless flitting images will satiate the passenger\u2019s ADD for a moment. Throwing together openFramworks<\/a>, a GPS, and the Kinect<\/a>, passengers use their interactive touch screen window to populate the scenery with fun objects like hot air balloons or people riding bikes.<\/p>\n
