Mobile World Congress<\/a> kicked off only hours ago, and Samsung has already garnered a heck of a lot of buzz for the Galaxy Note 8. While you may think an 8″ device sporting Android 4.1 with TouchWiz is a tablet, Samsung has thrown phone functionality into the Note 8.<\/p>\n

We live in a world where 5″ phones — something people once mocked — are largely becoming the accepted norm, so maybe 8″ isn’t too shocking. Indeed, I’ve been waiting for someone to pick up where Dell left off with the Streak line and introduce a 7″ phone\/tablet. When paired with a Bluetooth headset (or I dunno, Google Glass), such a device would potentially be the best mix of tablet\/phone for those who need a large device as well as constant connectivity.<\/p>\n

If any company other than Samsung had introduced this, it would be interesting, but a possible footnote. However, Samsung has been doing well in a once-Apple dominated market and has redefined what people think of as a cellphone with the smaller Galaxy Note line.
