While you may think an 8&#8243; device sporting Android 4.1 with TouchWiz is a tablet, Samsung has thrown phone functionality into the Note 8.<\/p>\n<p>We live in a world where 5&#8243; phones &#8212; something people once mocked &#8212; are largely becoming the accepted norm, so maybe 8&#8243; isn&#8217;t too shocking. Indeed, I&#8217;ve been waiting for someone to pick up where Dell left off with the Streak line and introduce a 7&#8243; phone\/tablet. When paired with a Bluetooth headset (or I dunno, Google Glass), such a device would potentially be the best mix of tablet\/phone for those who need a large device as well as constant connectivity.<\/p>\n<p>If any company other than Samsung had introduced this, it would be interesting, but a possible footnote. However, Samsung has been doing well in a once-Apple dominated market and has redefined what people think of as a cellphone with the smaller Galaxy Note line.
