Every night at 12:15 AM Pacific, Amazon gives away a free paid app through their Amazon app store. As I am usually awake at 12:15 AM Pacific, why not let you know if today\u2019s app is useful, or just more clutter in your app drawer?<\/em><\/p>\n

Today’s free app is\u00a0SeekDroid<\/a>\u00a0by\u00a0GT Media, LLC<\/a>\u00a0and usually runs for $.99 — except wait a second, I got this free ages ago! SeekDroid was released as a free app for a couple days some time ago on the Amazon Marketplace when GT Media was doing a gimmick, seeing if they could give away more free SeekDroids than the official free app of the day. If memory serves, they did. Which is good, because it’s a pretty awesome app.<\/p>\n

If you are prone to losing your phone, SeekDroid is the app you need. Using their website, you can make the phone sound an alarm. If you can’t here it, you can use the GPS to track it down. You can figure out if someone has been using your phone to make calls. You can even remote wipe the data from your phone — OK, I’m assuming the last part actually works, I haven’t tried that particular feature.
