Odds are you&#8217;re already vested in an existing ecosystem. When I switched to webOS, I had to give up all the apps I&#8217;d purchased for Windows Mobile and PalmOS. Now that I&#8217;m switching again, I have that same sting. It&#8217;s one of the things that keeps people on their current platforms, even when they&#8217;re not happy with it. Throw in learning a new interface and people can get really turned off.<\/p>\n<p>Microsoft is trying to temp people a bit more. If you go to <a href=\"http:\/\/aka.ms\/wpdemo\" target=\"_blank\">this link<\/a> from an iOS or Android device, you find yourself in a web-based Windows Phone 7 experience. I only had a second to mess with it, but it was pretty neat. There was no real lag and it felt like I was actually using WP7.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s an inventive idea, and one that may help &#8212; although having actual apps might help more.
