Every night at 12:15 AM Pacific, Amazon gives away a free paid app through their Amazon app store. As I am usually awake at 12:15 AM Pacific, why not let you know if today\u2019s app is useful, or just more clutter in your app drawer?<\/em><\/p>\n

Today’s free app is Word Pops<\/a>\u00a0by\u00a0Larva Labs Ltd.<\/a>, which usually runs for $1.99. Basically, it’s Boggle meets Tetris. Bubbles with letters fill up the screen. Make words with them and they pop. Don’t, and they fill up, ending your game.<\/p>\n

In theory, this game should be awesome. Except as far as I can tell, you can only make words out of a minimum of three letter consecutive words. Mostly, this left me with words like OOOOHAAAAAAAAIIIIIEEEEE. The real words I could pull together were mostly three letter words, some of which I’m not even sure are real, but the game let me get away with anyway. This is a game that should be far more fun than it is, but in its current state, it’s an easy pass.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
