So far, the eight boards up feature typical Pinterest fare,with a political twist:\u00a0 Obama-themed cupcakes, clothing, someone&#8217;s decorated fingernails. The &#8220;Pet Lovers for Obama&#8221; board, featuring adorable animals (another Pinterest must), may or may not be a dig at Mitt Romney, who strapped the family dog to the car roof (pet lovers \u2013 they&#8217;re not for people who do this).<\/p>\n<p>Pinterest&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/venturebeat.com\/2012\/03\/21\/pinterest-uniques\/\">rapid growth<\/a> makes it an attractive new venue for courting voters, and the focus on pretty pictures might be expected to keep political arguments to a minimum. Or not. Comments on some of the pins have already erupted into acrimony, complete with ad hominems and cries of &#8220;You don&#8217;t know me!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Obama&#8217;s presence on the <a href=\"http:\/\/bostinno.com\/2012\/03\/15\/the-story-of-pinterest-at-a-glance-infographic\/pinterest-demographics\/\">80 percent female<\/a> site is also meant to show that the President cares about women&#8217;s votes.
