Every night at 12:15 AM Pacific, Amazon gives away a free paid app through their Amazon app store. As I am usually awake at 12:15 AM Pacific, why not let you know if today’s app is useful, or just more clutter in your app drawer?
Today’s free app is Star Chart by Escapist Games Limited which usually runs for $2.99. Basically, it’s a star chart. Kind of like Google Sky Map, which was one of the first apps I ever downloaded on my phone. It was also one of the first apps I didn’t bother to reload on my phone when I wiped it for an upgrade, because how often do I need to know which constellation is Orion’s Belt?
That said, if memory serves, it is prettier than Google’s version. I don’t know if it is $2.99 prettier, but hey, it’s free today, go hog wild.
