Every night at 12:15 AM Pacific, Amazon gives away a free paid app through their Amazon app store. As I am usually awake at 12:15 AM Pacific, why not let you know if today’s app is useful, or just more clutter in your app drawer?
Today’s free app is Cozi Family Organizer Premium by Cozi, usually available for $5.99, making this something of a more premium free app. It’s an information sharing app, allowing families (or roommates, anyone who co-habits I guess) to share information like calendars, shopping lists, to do lists, or just personal thoughts. There are other web apps that do the same thing — I think Google+ might, except Google refuses to actually explain how their technology works — but Cozi does streamline things nicely, seemingly idiot proofing the technology.
Much like my complaint about Days Left a couple days ago, it would be nice if it could be synced to a real calendar, but I can also understand why you wouldn’t want L’il Timmy and Mommy knowing about the appointment you have at the massage parlor. Overall, I would be able to test this app far more thoroughly, if I wasn’t a single apartment dweller. So for me, the app is basically useless. But I can see its merits.
