Street Fighter X Mega Man Birthday Bash!

As Street Fighter’s 25th anniversery comes to a close, Mega Man’s 25th is about to kick off with a huge bang. Who would win in a fight: a super robot soldier who steals secret abilities via murder or martial arts masters that shoot fireballs? Mega Man is a great series, one of the many I cut my teeth on, but sometimes murdering countless robots grows tiresome. Thankfully, Street Fighter X Mega Man, a series I didn’t have the imagination to consider, will be released December 17, 2012. For free, on PC. Check out the trailer for some Street Fighter and Mega Man mixed up awesomeness.

Can robots hit women? Is that okay?

Seow Zong Hui, a fan from Singapore, brought and demoed a rough early version of Street Fighter X Mega Man to the Capcom booth at EVO 2012. The game immediately wowed Christian Svensson and led to an incredible collaboration between Capcom and its fans working to create a wacky and intriguing video game. Levels are redesigned, the game has entirely new bosses, A_Rival even put together a mash up of 8-bit Mega Man and Street Fighter music for the sound track.

Die, feeble floating robot heads!

This collaboration between Capcom and longtime fans of the series points to a great future for Mega Man. Capcom encouraged and supported a fan title, it’s being released for free, and it’s almost Mega Man’s 25th birthday. It doesn’t get any better than that.

“Why does everything hate me?!”

    Waaaaaaaaaaaaannttt…..

I miss my old Nintendo just because of this. I remember using my 2nd controller with both feet to do the super-jump cheat with the controller in my hands (MM3). My favorite weapons were Magnets and Shafow-Man’s ninja stars.
