HitRECord

It’s undeniable that Joseph Gordon-Levitt has become an entertainment powerhouse in the last few years. Most known for his appearance in movies such as Looper, The Dark Knight Rises, 50/50, Inception, JGL recently made his full-length feature directorial and screenwriting debut with Don Jon. The quickly rising star (who’s been rising since before he had the role of Tommy Solomon, an alien posing a teenage boy on 3rd Rock from the Sun) has also created an online collaborative production company called HitRECord, which will become a television show on the new cable channel Pivot.

Pivot is brought to you by Participant Media, the same company behind the award-winning documentary on education Waiting for Superman. It’s in that same mold of pushing for social change that Pivot was created.

Participant CEO Jim Berk said:

Over the past 9 ½ years, through 43 films, Participant has built a reputation for content that is entertaining, commercial and high quality, while at the same time, inspiring and empowering to audiences. pivot marks a seminal moment for us with the launch of a channel for people who care about the world around them.

As the website version has for the past three years, the HitRECord TV show invites audiences to collaborate with each other and JGL in the filmmaking process. In addition, the show will aslo feature live performances, music, animation, conversation, and more, with each episode based a different theme. JGL himself will act as the host for this weekly variety show that debuts on the new channel when it makes its appearance on your channel listings come August 1.
