Every night at 12:15 AM Pacific, Amazon gives away a free paid app through their Amazon app store. As I am usually awake at 12:15 AM Pacific, why not let you know if today’s app is useful, or just more clutter in your app drawer?
Today’s free app is Wiz Kid Jr. by Super Combo Collective which usually runs for $.99. Another puzzle game. Seems like Amazon is into themes lately.
Anyway, this is more your standard “connect at least three of the same kind” puzzle game, with some twists in how you lose. Instead of running out of time, or having your blocks come over the edge, some blocks become monsters that eat at your energy bar. The longer they’re on screen, the more they eat your energy. Likewise, the more of them you kill by connecting them with other blocks, the bigger your energy bar gets. There are also some power up items that allow you to instant-kill the baddies. It’s a little something of a twist on an otherwise rather full genre.
