Toshiba Thrive 7.7 Brings Something New To The Party

I like my tablets like Robert Crumb liked his women.

Back when Toshiba first released the Toshiba Thrive we had high hopes. Sadly, reception was not as hot. Had they released it prior to the thinner, lighter iPad 2 and Samsung Galaxy 10, they might have had a shot.

It looks like they thought so too because PC World has discovered the Toshiba Thrive 7.7 at Mobile World Congress. Unfortunately, Toshiba has shed the USB port, and while the inclusion of Android 4.0 and a quad-core Tegra 3 are impressive, what I’m really loving is the screen, which is a 1280 x 800 AMOLED HD stunner. This may not be the very first AMOLED screen on a tablet, but it’s great to see it with the rest of the specs. I can honestly say that I’m dying to get my hands on this to try it out.
