Will Apple Unveil An iPad3 In March?

It’s a new year, so it must be time for some new Apple rumors. AllThingsD reports that the next iPad will come out in the first week of March, a scant two weeks from now. This actually fits Apple’s general time table. The question is what makes for an iPad 3?

Will it be faster? Have better cameras? What about Siri — will we see Apple’s personal assistant make the leap to the big screen? Speaking of screens, the Wall Street Journal heard from a friend of a friend that Apple is showing around an eight-inch iPad Junior prototype. I’m with The Next Web though on this matter and don’t expect to see this baby iPad in March or anytime soon. Like most companies, Apple makes a ton of prototypes that never see the light of day.

The orgiinal iPhone, ladies and germs. Yes, really.

I think it’s far more likely that we’ll see Apple’s stunning Retina Display scaled up for the  next iPad.  That and LTE wireless technology instead of the current 3G inside the first and second generation iPads aren’t just the safest bets, but the most logical. There’s also a ton of things I’m certain we won’t see — a built-in stylus, support for Flash, real multitasking, or Apple keeping around the previous model iPad to be a budget option. But that’s okay. Because while yes, you can maybe get those options from other suppliers, the sales show that Apple is giving the general public exactly what they want.
