Instagram Officially Comes To Android And 430K Are Thankful

Today marks the day Android users can officially download the Instagram app from Google Play, so they don’t have to be taunted by their iPhone-wielding and picture-snapping friends any longer. Nor will they have to go on periodic searches for good knockoffs of the popular app. How popular is the app? Well, it’s known that the app has more than 30 million downloads on the iPhone, but the Intagram released some more impressive numbers today go with the Android release. There are:

  • 430K+ on Android Waiting List
  • 1 billion+ Photos Uploaded
  • 5 million+ Photos Per Day
  • 575 Likes Per Second
  • 81 Comments Per Second

If those numbers aren’t impressive enough for you, here’s one more number: nine. That’s the number of employees Instagram currently has. This small start-up has managed to stay small on the company end of things while getting exponentially bigger every day. That trend doesn’t look like it’s letting up any time soon.
