The United States government has just announced that they’re suing to block the acquisition of T-Mobile USA by AT&T. Considering that what was originally AT&T was br0ken up due to anti-trust concerns, it’s not too surprising.
Even if the U.S. government succeeds in nipping this merger in the bud, T-Mobile’s parent company Deutch Telecom still gets a $3 billion “break-up” fee and lots of other goodies. In fact, it’s almost worth it for them if it doesn’t go through.
Hurray!
