On The Cheap: Cyber Monday Is Over, But Smartphone Savings Are Not

Sprint

Sprint’s almost-new LG Mach is on sale almost everywhere, with Amazon selling it for $50 new but for a penny as an upgrade. Not bad, but why pay an activation fee? The phone is free at Best Buy.

If you want a QWERTY-enabled smartphone that’s not from LG, you can get the Motorola Photon Q at Wirefly for a dollar.

Great keyboard, so-so screen. For free, I’ll take it.

More the touchscreen sort? You can get a Galaxy Nexus direct from Sprint for free or an HTC EVO 4G LTE for a penny from Amazon if you’re a new user, but the phone isn’t worth purchasing as an upgrade though; you’ll pay a full $80 for that privilege. If you want a good new phone, seek out the Galaxy S III at Wirefly for $50.

Sadly, that basically does it for Sprint. You can find variations on the above deal on the Mach, but why bother?

Do not buy: Any 3G phone on Sprint, as you pay a $10 mark-up for data anyway or any of their Wi-Max phones like the Samsung Epic or the Galaxy S II.

More and more drastic discounts and promotional offers are on the way with the holiday season in full swing and different stores, both the wireless and brick-and-mortar kinds, vying for your fleeting funds. Stay tuned to Techcitement as we try to bring you every worthy deal we can find. Also, if we missed any deals, let us and other readers know in our comments section.
