Every night at 12:15 AM Pacific, Amazon gives away a free paid app through their Amazon app store. As I am usually awake at 12:15 AM Pacific, why not let you know if today’s app is useful, or just more clutter in your app drawer?
Today’s free app is Refraction by Textual Indices, which ordinarily runs for $.99. The game is your standard laser game, where you use mirrors and prisms to get a laser beam to hit its target. I remember playing a similar game way back on my Apple II GS. I think it was called Lazer Maze. This one is a few steps past Lazer Maze, with options that weren’t available on the Apple II (and just to be all grumpy old man for a second, how freaky is it that my phone is more powerful than my old desktop), although I am pretty sure I have seen similar apps before. Still, it’s an enjoyable puzzle game worth playing for a bit.
